Reading Journal set-up and notes

HW: RJ 1.1 T.O. p. 1-18
summer projects due Monday, August 26th.

Today, August 21, the whole class came in on time and quietly.

We looked at the agenda and wrote it down.

We collected homework, and then Ms. Nakada asked, "Who wants to do the blog today?"

Nobody said a word. They didn't want to do it.

So, then, she said, "Who came up the name Water Sheep?"

So, I went up to do the blog.

Then, we got our journals and took notes about the books we were going to read now and for homework.

The book we had to read for homework was The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton. We had to read pages 1-18.

Ms. Nakada talked about Jason Reynolds and his book series Track.

After that, we got fifteen minutes to read The Outsiders.

We started our Reading Journals by speaking about the greasers and the Socs.
